Heading “out east” to the Hamptons has for years been the favorite summer escape for Manhattanites.  One of the quaintest, most isolated spots is Shelter Island, a location accessible only be ferry.  I still remember my first time exploring the island for a Ram’s Head Inn Shelter Island wedding and being so amazed both by the gorgeous homes as well as the laid-back vibes.  It’s now a favorite spot of mine and one I look forward to visiting every summer for weddings!

Molly and Pete had a summer wedding at The Ram’s Head Inn Shelter Island, a landmark inn that’s been open since the 1920’s on The Hampton’s hideaway.  The couple planned their garden-party soiree with a casual elegance, leaning into the charm and summer-weekend vibe the inn evokes.  The bride chose a fresh, beachy look with her wavy hair and simple but stylish Monique Lhuillier gown.  For her bridesmaids, she chose floral, bohemian dresses, which added to the whimsical, Hamptons aesthetic.  I loved photographing these stylish crew of ladies – each with their own distinct look allowed to shine through, while remaining coordinated.

After a private first look on the beach by Ram’s Head Inn Shelter Island, the couple said their vows on a hill overlooking the bay.  An outdoor cocktail hour followed, with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails on the inn’s expansive lawn.

Simple pink and white florals by Kim Jon Designs and string lights hung from old oak trees adorned the al-fresco dinner.  After a number of toasts (including a funny song written by the groom’s brother and best man), the guests relocated inside for a night of wild dancing lead by Live Wire Entertainment.  I love this location and this property and I can’t wait to venture out to Shelter Island again soon!
