There is just something special about Manhattan around the winter holidays – the crisp air and promise of snow, the twinkling festive lights, the anticipation of time with friends and family.  I’ve always believed that the best winter weddings bring all of those elements together to embrace the magic of the holidays!  Today I am taking a trip back in time to Melissa and Jared’s Gramercy Park Hotel wedding day and Riverpark wedding ceremony and reception were the perfect example of an elegant winter celebration.

The couple began the day at my all-time favorite Manhattan hotel – The Gramercy Park Hotel.  I love photographing here.  The rich colors of the carpeting and furniture are so unique and set a stunning, rich palette for photographs.  The bride and groom then did their first look on the covered rooftop space at the hotel.  This space is so lush with greenery and full of window light going through the stunning Super Sash Windows! It’s the perfect indoor portrait space (and so beautiful for weddings!).  We then headed down to the street for a few outdoor photos, in which Marissa’s fur shawl added perfectly to the winter vibe.

That evening we headed down to the wedding venue, Riverpark.  The ceremony was ultra-modern and stylish, held in glass box style building with a hanging fabric installation as décor.  The couple said “I do” under a simple chuppah and then danced the night away!  One of my favorite moments was when Marissa traded her Manolo Blahniks for white converses featuring her new last name – the perfect way to dance out the night.
