Caitlin and Andrew’s Tavern on The Green wedding was a perfect example of an elegant Manhattan celebration. The day began quietly in the couple’s mid-town apartment where Caitlin got ready. The bride opted for a simple sheath gown by A La Robe and classic Jimmy Choo heels, the perfect combo for their city soiree.
The bride and groom wanted a private place for their first look, so we opted to create this moment inside their home, against the backdrop of their large dining room windows. They then ventured out onto the street for a few photos, as well as to a neighboring hotel to sneak out on the balcony to take a few photos overlooking Park Avenue. This was the perfect example of where a second photographer really comes into play – my second shooter Tanya went with the couple down to the street, while I stayed on their building’s rooftop to photograph them from a birds-eye view. New York City is so massive, it’s always fun to think of ways to capture the energy and scale of the city!
We then headed into Central Park to the iconic Tavern on The Green restaurant where the couple had their ceremony and reception. Before dinner, we snuck outside for a few dusk portraits – something I always recommend for Manhattan weddings. The city truly comes alive at night and I love adding these dynamic portraits into the wedding day collection!
