There’s nothing quite like a tented private estate wedding to start the spring wedding season off right, and Taylor and Tyler’s New Jersey soirée was one for the books!  The couple (who friends refer to as “T&T”) chose the bride’s stunning family home in rural New Jersey for their venue.  The private estate is set off the road on a large hill overlooking fields and mountains, which served as the perfect backdrop for their idyllic reception.  Taylor had known from a young age that she wanted to get married at the home she grew up in, which was so sentimental in all the right ways.

The day began with the bride and bridesmaids getting ready at home.  The bride wore a custom Anna Maier gown with a removable off the shoulder lace jacket, which she took off for a more informal reception look.   She also wore the same veil as her two sisters had before her as her “something old” and blue Louboutin’s with a bow for her “something blue.”  The wedding party was preppy perfection with bridesmaids in celadon gowns, groomsmen with monogrammed suspenders and ring-bearers with custom Vineyard Vines bow ties featuring the Brant Point Lighthouse where Tyler had proposed.

Taylor and Tyler had hands down the most emotional first look I’ve ever seen (Tyler was in tears before Taylor even tapped his shoulder!).  It was such a sweet moment to witness and a memory I am sure they cherish.  After a catholic ceremony at my favorite (bight and sunny!) church – Church of Christ the King – the couple returned to the family’s private estate in a vintage Rolls Royce for cocktail hour on the back patio and a tented reception on the back lawn.

The cocktail space was decorated with hanging oil lamps from antiques.co.uk/antiques/categories/antique-lighting/oil-lamps and featured custom cocktails served in silver Jefferson Cups that the bride’s family had been collecting for years, as well as a raw bar.

The tent was exquisitely decorated by Jardinière Fine Flowers who combined classic white florals with less traditional vases filled with slightly wild green branches, bringing the feeling of the outdoors into the tent.  The bride’s sister hand painted the table cards with images of significant places to the couple – such as where the first met, vacations taken together and their first home together.  After a classic first dance, toasts, and a gorgeous sunset portrait session, the guests all danced the night away!  This wedding was all about the personal details and the continuation of family legacy and I am so grateful that I was a part of it!
