Where do I even begin with Lexie and Matt? From the moment I spoke with them on the phone I knew we were a match made in wedding heaven. By the end of their fun evening engagement session in the West Village (complete with pizza from their favorite spot – Soho pizza joint Rubirosa), we felt like old friends.
The couple chose one of my favorite venues, Hamilton Farm Golf Club, for their wedding day. The classically elegant golf club is located in rural Bedminster, New Jersey. Settled among the rolling hills, the grounds feature an expansive golf course, stables and old-world brick mansion where the bride and groom resided for the weekend. Lexie opted for a modern, romantic wedding day style with a two-piece gown by Monique Lhuillier and Valentino stilettos. Her natural beauty look, with makeup by Danielle McGee and hair by Marissa Molnar, finished off the romantic vibe. Matt also looked extremely dapper in his tux, while enjoying the morning drinking whisky with his groomsmen in the mansion’s library (my favorite spot for groomsmen photos!).
After an emotional first look, we explored the expansive mansion grounds with their wedding party for photos. This very popular couple had 23 best friends in their wedding party, so we got creative with a “Vanity Fair” style group shoot on a brick wall in order to consolidate the big group – it took some time to set up, but well worth the effort!
Lexie and Matt were married in the rose garden, under an arch designed by Jardiniére Fine Flowers, who also designed their peony filled reception space. The bride was escorted by her father and stepfather and a priest blessed their union in front of their friends and family. Following cocktails and sunset photos, the couple danced the night away to the sounds of Faze 4 Orchestra. The whole day was flawlessly designed Peony Events.
