Marissa and Ryan are just about the most fun couple I could hope to work with. I first met them for a coffee in Manhattan and after a meeting filled with more laughter than business, I know it was going to be a fun wedding! The couple planned their wedding to be at Eagle Oaks Country Club near Marissa’s family in New Jersey, but knew they wanted engagement photos in Manhattan where they live together. We picked just about the hottest day of the year for their engagement photos, but again lots of laughter and goofing off made it one of my all-time favorite sessions!
When their spring wedding finally arrived, it was a little chillier than expected, but Marissa was a trooper and we still did all of their photos outside. With her makeup by Beauty on Location and a simple but stunning gown by Amsale, she was a picture of elegance. After their first look we explored Eagle Oaks Country Club together for portraits. Ryan is an avid golfer and loved the golf course for photos, but Marissa is less enthusiastic about the sport and wanted to emphasize the natural beauty of the venue. To create photos that they both would love, we found lots of tree-lined pathways and tall grass to make the golf course look whimsical and romantic (and Ryan go to go out to the tee for a few shots as well!).
For their ceremony, the couple chose a cherry blossom trellis designed by Crest Florist, which was then moved into the reception space for a gorgeous sweetheart table backdrop. I loved how they chose to use cherry blossoms throughout their reception décor, really allowing it to feel like a spring garden inside the ballroom. After raucous entrance played in by their band, Starlight Music, everyone danced the night away! Thanks for having me along and for being so much fun!
