Lisa and Joe’s summer wedding at Whitby Castle in Rye, New York was full of pure joy from beginning to end! I met Lisa a few years ago at her sister Jessica’s wedding. It was love at first site for me and these two wonderful ladies (their husbands are pretty great too!). Lisa and Joe chose the lovely Whitby Castle for their ceremony and reception. I was beyond thrilled with all of the lush greenery available to photograph in! We even did the couple’s first look inside (yes, inside!) of a massive willow tree!
THE WEDDING: WHITBY CASTLE
The day began with Lisa giving her bridesmaids hand written notes and customized monogramed totes. Hanging out with these ladies was like a reunion for me, since I had met so many of them at Jessica’s wedding the year before! The date was right smack in the middle of summer, but the wedding party were troopers and braved that heat to take some awesome photos outdoors… I especially loved the bridesmaid’s coordinated fans. This cute accessory kept them cool and created a great photo-opt!
The reception hall was decorated with subtle pink and white flowers, setting the tone for the fun, summery party ahead. Lisa and Joe’s reception was filled with good food, raucous toasts and a buzzing dance floor. I could’t resist stealing the couple away for a few sunset shots, just as the colors were peaking out over Whitby Castle’s golf course. After that, there was nothing left to do except enjoy a glass of champaign and dance the night away!
